Jeffrey Buter, head coach of Nigeria Premier Football League side Sporting Lagos, has expressed delight at Victor Samuel’s performance in the team’s recent win.

The midfielder played a vital role in helping Sporting Lagos end their winless run on Sunday against Bendel Insurance at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium.

The midfielder restored parity with a composed finish inside the box after the visitors took the lead inside the opening minute of the match.

Buter also welcomed the return of Odinaka Okoro, who returns to the squad after some time on the sidelines.

Jeffrey Buter made these remarks ahead of the team’s matchday 9 fixture away at Plateau United in Jos.

Buter also spoke on the reunion with Shola Adegun, a former associate who now works as one of coach Gbenga Ogunbote’s technical staff.

“I’m really happy for Samuel after what he has gone through. He is a dynamic player.”
“Odinaka Okoro is back in the team after some time out. As a young lad, I am happy for him too.”

“We go back and prepare ahead of Plateau United on Matchday 9, with Shola Adegun, who is a friend and colleague. We shared the dugout, and he is now with Plateau United,” Buter added.

Sporting Lagos will hope to continue their impressive away form against top sides in the NPFL when they take on Plateau United on Sunday at the new Jos Stadium.

The Tech Boys had previously won away at Enyimba and avoided defeat against Kano Pillars away from home as well.

However, Sporting Lagos have lost on both occasions against the Jos side in the league, and the hosts come into the tie high on confidence after humiliating Kano Pillars on Sunday on the same ground.
