The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) is set for a photo finish this season after defending champions Remo Stars revived their survival hopes with a dramatic 2–1 victory over Nasarawa United in Sunday’s clash in Ikenne.

After a tense first half that ended goalless, Stanley Joseph finally broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute to put the hosts ahead.

Nasarawa United responded late in the game, with Suleiman Dauda equalising in the 83rd minute to set up a nervy finish.

But Remo Stars had the final say as Michael Ibe struck two minutes from time to seal a crucial victory for the Sky Blue Stars.

In Ibadan, former champions Shooting Stars recorded a thrilling 3–2 win over Wikki Tourists at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasinga.

Sadiq Ibrahim fired the hosts into the lead in the 16th minute before Abba Musa restored parity for Wikki Tourists in the 35th minute.

Shooting Stars regained the advantage just before the break when Lucky Emmanuel scored in the 44th minute.

Wikki Tourists again fought back after the restart, with John Taiwo levelling the score in the 53rd minute.

However, Tijani Al-Ameen emerged the hero for the Oluyole Warriors, netting the decisive goal two minutes from time to secure all three points.

In Aba, Enyimba produced a solid performance to defeat Plateau United 2–0, with Paul Odeh and Chinedu Ufere finding the back of the net for the People’s Elephant.

Elsewhere, Kwara United and Rangers shared the spoils in a goalless draw in Ilorin, while Niger Tornadoes were also held to a 0–0 stalemate by Kano Pillars in Minna.

At the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano, Barau FC recorded an impressive 2–0 victory over Abia Warriors.

Muhammad Umar gave the hosts an early advantage with a superb free-kick in the ninth minute before doubling the lead with another set-piece strike on the half-hour mark to seal the win.
