Troost-Ekong to join Saudi Arabia club Al Khalood
Super Eagles assistant captain, William Troost-Ekong, has agreed to join Al Khalood in Saudi Arabia.
This is according to Italian journalist and transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano.
In a post on his X handle, Romano revealed that Greek club PAOK and Al Khalood have agreed on a fee and also personal terms are in place.
Troost-Ekong was named Player of the Tournament after helping the Super Eagles reach the final of AFCON 2023 in Cote d’Ivoire. He scored three goals as the Eagles went all the way to the final before losing 2-1 to hosts Côte d’Ivoire.
The former Udinese star had to undergo surgery in February for an injury he suffered during AFCON. The injury saw him miss the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic in Uyo and Abidjan respectively.
He returned to the field in July and scored the winning goal as PAOK overcame Bosnian club Borac Banja Luka 3-2 in the UEFA Champions League first leg, second-round tie.
His return to action will be a big boost for the Super Eagles when the qualifiers for AFCON 2025 begin in September.
