Former Universal Professional Wrestling Federation (UPWF) world heavyweight champion, Osita Offor, also known as De Ultimate Commander, has pledged his support for Labour Party’s gubernatorial candidate in Saturday’s election, Dr. Alex Otti.

Speaking in Umuahia on Monday evening, Commander said he has collapsed his structure for Otti, adding that his supporters across the state have resolved to see that the former Diamond Bank managing director becomes Abia State governor on Saturday.

The undefeated wrestling icon, who contested the last senatorial election as African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for Abia North, said his team arrived at the decision to support Otti after carefully analysing the character and capacity of the candidates vying for the seat.

He said that he decided to throw his support for Otti after a discussion in which Otti gave him insight into what he would do for Abia State as governor.

“What he told me is in line with my own thoughts and plan for Abia. I saw that Otti has all it takes to salvage Abia after several years of bad leadership,” he said.

Commander said that he took the decision to support Otti not minding that he will still participate in the inconclusive Abia North Senatorial election.

“We are still waiting for INEC’s decision on the election, although some people erroneously announced Senator Orji Uzor Kalu as winner.

“We have notified the court of our plan on the election and once INEC comes out with a decision on the election and the areas there were no election, we will know what else to do.

“But for now, we are working to ensure that for the first times since 1999, a good man becomes Abia State governor,” he said.
