Gumel confident of success as mayor welcomes Team Nigeria to Games Village


Team Nigeria after being welcomed to the Games Village of the African Games in Morocco by the mayor of the village…at the weekend.

Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) President, Habu Gumel believes the country has the quality to come tops in the overall medals table at the end of the on-going 12th Africa Games holding in Rabat, Morocco.

Speaking when Team Nigeria’s contingents were welcomed into the Games Village, Gumel charged the athletes to be good ambassadors of the country. He also thanked the government of Morocco for welcoming the team, stating that Nigeria has a good working relationship with the hosts, assuring that Nigeria came to win the games.

The Nigeria contingent was admitted to the games village in a colourful ceremony yesterday in Rabat, Morocco.

Youssef Oliewzar, the Mayor of the African Games Village, who thanked the Nigerian government for releasing the athletes to participate in the games, welcomed the contingent of about 300.
