Heartland Football Club is still in deep shock and profound sadness following the news of the passing of its former General Coordinator and Licensing Officer, Mr. Tonnex Chukwu.

Mr. Chukwu died following a road crash. His death has left behind a legacy of dedication, professionalism, and unwavering passion for sports.

According to Heartland FC, Chukwu’s sudden departure is a painful loss not only to the club but to the entire Nigerian football family.

A seasoned sports journalist and former Media Officer of Enyimba FC, Mr. Chukwu served Heartland FC with distinction. During his time with the Naze Millionaires, he brought immense experience, structure, and commitment to his roles, contributing significantly to the administrative and operational growth of the club.

Heartland FC Technical Manager, Emmanuel Amuneke, expressed his shock and sorrow over the loss.

“I am deeply shocked by the news of Tonnex Chukwu’s death. He was a thorough professional whose experience and insight were invaluable to Heartland FC. His passion for the game and dedication to duty stood him out. This is a painful loss, and he will be greatly missed,” Amuneke said.

According to Hartland FC, Chukwu will be remembered as a passionate sportsman, a fine journalist, and a committed football administrator who gave his best to the growth of the game.
