Alex Iwobi is confident that Everton can avoid relegation from the Premier League as they host Fulham at Goodison Park on Saturday in what will be a big day for the Toffees’ survival hopes.

Sean Dyche’s side are currently 17th in the Premier League, four points ahead of bottom of the table Southampton but the joint on points with 18th-placed Nottingham Forest also in the drop zone.

The Merseyside club still have to face Newcastle United and Manchester City in their remaining games as they fight for survival in the Premier League, something Iwobi feels they can achieve.

“The main thing for us now is to remain consistent. We are trying to pull away from the situation we are in as fast as we possibly can. We all know that we are in a sticky situation,” he said.

“So, we just have to fight and put everything into our games. We don’t want to be where we are but I am sure for neutral fans it has been an exciting season. For us, we want to get away from where we are.”

There aren’t many games to go before the season comes to an end and it is quite tough to predict what is going to happen.

Iwobi was then asked by the official Everton website if he is confident that the club can climb the table and avoid danger.

“Yes, we see the quality in the changing room every day. We see it in training. We just have to make sure we stay consistent and perform like we have been doing.

“Especially if we keep creating chances and if we do, I am sure we will get the results to come our way. Let’s see,” the Nigerian international winger summed up.

Iwobi has made 33 appearances for Everton across all competitions this season from which the 26-year-old has scored one goal and provided eight assists.
