Manchester City’s squad arrived at Manchester airport yesterday afternoon ahead of their Champions League clash with Basle.

All decked in their Dsquared2 attire, Pep Guardiola and Co were greeted by supporters as they made their way into the airport wearing matching navy coats, black polo neck jumpers and grey trousers.

Kevin De Bruyne posed for selfies with a supporter, while Raheem Sterling could be seen signing autographs ahead of the St. Jakob-Park showdown today night.

Their return to fitness is a welcome boost for Guardiola, who could name only six substitutes on the bench for their 1-1 draw at Burnley earlier this month.

After the Champions League clash, City travel to Wigan in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Monday before the Carabao Cup final against Arsenal at the end of the month.

Kevin De Bruyne, who provided three assists in Saturday’s victory over Leicester, was also put through his paces on Monday. Following the win at the Etihad, Guardiola insisted the Belgian maestro can win the Ballon d’Or.

De Bruyne has developed into an integral part of a City squad that cost a combined £777million – the most expensive set of players ever assembled.

Guardiola has an embarrassment of riches in every sense, with the £57m January addition of Aymeric Laporte helping to eclipse PSG who are second on the list having spent £713m, according to CIES Football Observatory.

City’s summer spending spree on Kyle Walker (£45m), Ederson (£35m), Bernardo Silva (£43), Danilo (£27m) and Benjamin Mendy (£52m) shot the Sheikh Mansour-owned club to new heights.
