Niger United, Confluence Stars, others shine as second phase begins

Niger United, Confluence Stars and Defenders Babes, yesterday, began the second phase of the Prudent Energy Premier Handball League on a winning note. The championship is holding at the University of Lagos Indoor Sports Hall.

Niger United, Confluence Stars and Defenders Babes, yesterday, began the second phase of the Prudent Energy Premier Handball League on a winning note. The championship is holding at the University of Lagos Indoor Sports Hall.

In the men’s category, Niger United hammered Police Machine 30 to 23 in a one-sided game, while Benue Buffaloes were pounded 21 to 30 by Confluence Stars. League leaders, Kano Pillars and Safety Shooters walked over Kada Stars and Owena Kings respectively.

In the women class, Seasiders Babes humbled Imo Grasshoppers 19 to 18, league leaders, Safety Babes and Rima Queens walked over Kada Queens and Adorable Angels respectively.

The league continues today with Owena Kings taking on Confluence Stars, Niger United will meet Benue Buffaloes, just as Kada Stars will battle Tojemarine in the men’s category.

Other matches include, Lagos Seasiders versus Safety Shooters, Rima Strikers against Kano Pillars, and D: Defenders clashing against Police Machine in the last fixture of the category.

In the women class, Safety Babes will try their strength against Plateau Peacocks, while Seasiders Babes will challenge Rima Queens in a supremacy match up, just as Defenders Babes have a date against Adorable Angels, with Benue Queens taking on Kada Queens and Bendel Dynamos trying to compound the woes of Imo Grasshoppers.
