Nigeria to host 2026 CAF Congress, Awards

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) yesterday disclosed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has accepted to host the 2026 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Awards slated to hold in October. The Awards come on the heels of CAF’s 48th Ordinary General Assembly.
  
The NFF disclosed that President Tinubu announced his readiness to host the Congress and Awards at the ongoing Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, Kenya, following a meeting with CAF President, Dr Patrice Motsepe, with Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Mrs Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, NFF President, Ibrahim Musa Gusau, Special Adviser to the CAF President, Amaju Melvin Pinnick, and CAF Acting General Secretary, Samson Adamu, in attendance.
 
The CAF Ordinary General Assembly brings together leading figures in African football, including presidents of CAF’s 54 Member Associations, representatives from the six zonal unions and senior football officials from across the continent.
