Enyimba attacking midfielder Ikechukwu Ibenegbu has said his side would not accord undue respect to league leaders, Plateau United, in their top-flight clash.

The People’s Elephant will host the Jos Elephants in tomorrow’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 22 clash at adopted ground UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar.

The six-time Nigerian champions were beaten 3-1 by the Tin City side in the first fixture clash in Jos.

Ibenegbu said his side have resolved to use maximally the opportunities in the second term to advance their season’s course of becoming champions once again.

“We are expecting nothing short of outright win as our resolve for the second term is not to leave any stone unturned to amass as many points as possible.

“We played two straight away matches winning one at Remo Stars while we narrowly and unnecessarily lost to Sunshine Stars in Akure.

“We will accord due respect to Plateau United as league leaders but that is where it stops as we want to win and win convincingly.

“Plateau United have actually taken their fair share of the points at least it makes sense for us to take ours.

“We have already set out the targets to win the top-flight as well as the Federation Cup.

“Those are our main targets and from the look of things the targets are achievable in the ongoing top-flight.

“The gap at the top is quite insignificant so with determination and hard work we will be able to achieve our goal at the end of the season.

Enyimba are ninth on the 20-team top-flight on 31 points, eight behind league leaders and opponents Plateau United.
