Olukoya sets up department to midwife MFM’s grassroots sports revolution

The General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) worldwide, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, has set up a department that will give youths of the ministry the opportunity to develop their talents sports.

According to the Sports Director, MFM Worldwide, Godwin Enakhena, Dr. Olukoya has mandated the department to organise basketball, tennis and athletics competitions immediately, while the rested annual Dr. D. K. Olukoya International Youth Football competition, which brought together hundreds of footballers from MFM branches across Nigeria and beyond to the Prayer City, is also to be revamped forthwith.

“The G. O revealed that he had to respond to pleas from MFM youths who now felt left out and are yearning daily for other sports competitions like it used to be in the past until the promotion of MFM FC to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL),” Enakhena said.

Enakhena, who combines his position as Sports Director with that of MFM FC chairman after the team’s promotion to the NPFL, expressed his delight with the confidence reposed in him by Dr. Olukoya and promised to do his best to harness budding talents for sports in Nigeria.

The sports journalist will now play a supervisory role in the football team to be headed by Mr. Emmanuel Aiyeyun, who is to act in an interim capacity until a substantive board is inaugurated in a few days
