Pillars, Safety Babes maintain lead as Niger United, Kada Stars clash

League leaders, Kano Pillars and Safety Shooters, yesterday, increased their chances of winning the title by winning their match Day three game at the ongoing Prudent Energy Premier Handball League.

League leaders, Kano Pillars and Safety Shooters, yesterday, increased their chances of winning the title by winning their match Day three game at the ongoing Prudent Energy Premier Handball League.

The competition is held at the Indoor Sports Hall of the University of Lagos, Akoka.
 
While Kano Pillars walloped Benue Buffaloes 31 to 20 to maintain their lead in the men’s category, Safety Shooters dismissed Tojemarine Academy 31 to 28 to retain their second position. Owena Kings and Rima Strikers drew 21 to 21, just as Confluence Stars forced Niger United to a 19-19 draw.
 
In the women category, Safety Babes also preserved their leadership on top of the table by beating Seasiders Babes 31 to 25, while Imo Grasshoppers walked over Kada Queens 10 to 0.

 
In today’s matches, Confluence Stars will tackle Tojemarine Academy, D: Defenders will meet Owena Kings, Kada Stars are up against Niger United, Rima Strikers have a date with Safety Shooters, while Benue Buffaloes will meet Lagos Seasiders and the league leaders, Kano Pillars in a battle against Police Machine in the men’s category.
 
In the Women group, Defender Babes are scheduled to meet Kada Queens, Seasiders Babes will battle with Bendel Dynamos, Benue Queens will battle with Adorable Angels, and Imo Grasshoppers are up against Plateau Peacocks, while Rima Queens will meet Safety Babes.
