Super Eagles midfielder, Kelechi Nwakali, has described his debut at the Africa Cup of Nations, which ended with victory over Pharaohs of Egypt, as a dream come true.

Super Eagles midfielder, Kelechi Nwakali, has described his debut at the Africa Cup of Nations, which ended with victory over Pharaohs of Egypt, as a dream come true. He said that playing a competition of AFCON magnitude is the dream of every Nigerian player.

“If I don’t have what it takes to be part of this team, the coach wouldn’t invite me. I want to live up to expectations and try my best for the team. I want to help the team achieve something great in Cameroun,” the U-17 World Cup winner said.

On his comparison with Jay Jay Okocha, Nwakali said: “I am not living under anybody. Okocha is a legend. I don’t think I have his skills. I am a different player, who wants to help the team win.”

The former Arsenal starlet, who is currently preparing for Nigeria’s second game in the competition against Sudan tomorrow, promised Nigerians that he would give his best if selected for the game.
