Police headquarters wins IGP Taekwondo Championship

Police headquarters, Abuja, at the weekend, won the ninth edition of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Taekwondo Championship, which ended at the Badminton Hall of Police College, Ikeja, Lagos

Police headquarters, Abuja, at the weekend, won the ninth edition of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Taekwondo Championship, which ended at the Badminton Hall of Police College, Ikeja, Lagos, at the weekend.

At the championship, which featured the best taekwondo athletes from all Police formations and civil society clubs across the nation, Delta State won the best state category.

According to the chairperson of the Nigeria Police Taekwondo Association (NIPOTA), CSP Stella Ebikefe, the tournament, designed to improve the standard of taekwondo in Nigeria and also discover talents from various age-grades, was a success.

She pledged that the Nigerian Police would continue to support the growth of taekwondo in Nigeria, adding, “We are delighted by the turn out of athletes from various regions of the country. The IGP Championship is another way to give credibility to the Police Force.

“Talents discovered in the IGP Taekwondo Championship will be exposed to more international championships.”
