Former Eagles player, Yisa Sofoluwe, has said that Nigeria’s qualification to Russia 2018 World Cup will depend mainly on the players. Nigeria will meet Cameroun, Algeria and Zambia, but Sofoluwe is of the opinion that if only the best players are selected, Nigeria can get the ticket.

He urged Nigerians not to see the group as a group of death, saying that other countries in the log are also afraid of facing the Super Eagles.

Sofoluwe urged the NFF to commence early arrangements that will assist the teams technical crew get the best preparations ahead of the qualifiers, stressing that the Eagles have the chance of booking a place in the World Cup.

He added that with quality friendly matches, the Eagles could blend properly and outshine any team that comes their way in the qualifiers.

“There is no team that is not beatable in modern football. All the coaches need is to get the right players who are committed and ready to give their best in the qualifiers. NFF need to start early preparations for the team for them to blend properly ahead of the qualifier. This implies that selection of players must be strictly screened to get the best legs for a formidable team,” he said.
