Rivers Angels will tomorrow take on South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns in their second Group B fixture of the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Women’s Champions League.

Rivers Angels, who are the Nigerian Women’s Premier League defending champions, at the weekend, lost 3-0 to the Moroccan club, Association’s Sports of Forces Armed Royal, ASFAR FC in their debut match of the CAF’s continental competition.

ASFAR FC’s Sanaa Mssoudy made history when she scored the first hat trick in the women’s Champions League.

The loss to ASFAR leaves the Rivers State based club in the bottom of Group B after Mamelodi Sundowns defeated Vihiga Queens 1-0 in their first group B fixture.

Ahead of their Champions League duel against Rivers Angels, ASFAR had played nine friendly matches, with two national team matches in which 12 players from the club also participated in games involving their national team.

The first edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League holds in Egypt.
