Somalia referee for Rivers United, Young Africans CAF Champions League clash

The Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) has appointed Hassan Mohamed Hagi of Somalia as the match official for 2021/22 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League 1st leg preliminary

The Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) has appointed Hassan Mohamed Hagi of Somalia as the match official for 2021/22 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League 1st leg preliminary round game between Young Africans of Tanzania and Rivers United FC of Nigeria. It will hold on Sunday, September 12 at Dar Es Salaam Stadium in Tanzania.

Hassan Mohamed Hagi started refereeing in Somalia in 2008 and became an international FIFA referee in 2014.

He will be assisted by compatriots Suleiman Bashir Abdi (Assistant Referee 1) and Ali Mohamud Mahad (Assistant Referee 2), while Ahmed Hassan Hussein will serve as the fourth official.

Lewis Blaze Madeleine from Seychelles is the Match Commissioner.

According to the Media Officer of Rivers United, Charles Mayuku, the team will host Young Africans in the reverse fixture on Sunday, September 19, 2021, in Port Harcourt.

Winner of the two legs will proceed to the next round of this season CAF Champions League.
