Teslim Balogun Stadium comes alive, as FOSLA Academy battles Excel Centre in final

FOSLA Academy, Abuja and Excel Education Centre, Port Harcourt are the last two teams still standing in this year’s All Nigerian Secondary Schools Football Championship, also known as the NNPC/Shell Cup. And today, they will enter the Teslim Balogun Stadium pitch in Lagos to decide which of them will go home as the best secondary school football team in the country.

All the secondary schools in the 36 states of the county and the FCT, Abuja entered for the championship, but at the semifinals on Tuesday, FOSLA Academy and Excel Education Centre earned the right to contest today’s final.

FOSLA Academy defeated Asegun Comprehensive High School, Ibadan, 3-0 in the first semifinal decided at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, while Excel Education Centre walloped Government Science Secondary School, Bauchi by 4-0.

On their way to victory, Abdulahi Mohammed scored twice for FOSLA Academy, while Alayi Haruna scored the third goal in the first semifinal to take the Abuja team to the final.
