The Ubulu community in Imo State will witness a large turnout of football fans on Sunday when the final of the second Ogbuehi Udemba Obi football tournament holds at the Comprehensive Secondary School sports ground.

The tournament tagged, Ubulu Unity Cup, is sponsored by Ogbuehi Udemba Obi, who is the executive chairman, Oru West local council. It is aimed at fostering unity and friendship among the indigenes, as well as unearthing talented youths within the communities and its environs.

The youth football event, which kicked off on December 28, 2018, is featuring nine teams representing various communities. They include Umuoru/Umuoleaku, Umuchukwu, Eleke, Umuonyeyilem, Umuanyachu/Dudumiri/Umuoma, Uziezike, Amorie, Umuihejiofor and Ubaha/Amadehi.

Speaking on the tournament, the council boss said it was part of his passion and desire to bring all the youths together during the festive period, adding that it would help the discovery of talented players from the community.

At the end of the competition, participants will earn various awards, including the highest goal scorer, most valuable player, best goalkeeper and best behave team, and among other honours.
