VGC Basketball final round holds August 4 in Lagos

The finals of the third VGC Basketball competition has been scheduled to run from August 4 to 5 at the Victoria Garden City Estate in Lagos, the host of the event, Siji Sowonuola has revealed.
 
In a statement yesterday, Sowonuola said this year’s edition was built on the successes of the past two events, which featured top teams from the environs and some past and present national team players.
 
“We have a very high level of interest that has built up from our past editions and we are working to make this edition an improvement of the past. We have compiled all lessons from the past and everybody is looking forward to it,” he said.
 
He revealed that six teams have already registered for this year’s event, adding, “a lot of new players that can change the dynamics of play for traditional champions at the event are also in the fray.”
 
Sowonuola disclosed that the opening ceremony and draft was held on June 24, 2018, adding that the competition has been on at the VGC Estate since July 14.
