We don’t fear Nigeria, Guinea-Bissau boast
Players and officials of Guinea-Bissau have promised to end Nigeria’s unbeaten run when they clash today in their last group match in Garoua.
The Eagles top the group with six points, while Guinea Bissau is third with one point. Today’s match will hold at 8.00 p.m.
Guinea Bissau drew 0-0 with Sudan in their first match, losing a penalty awarded to them late in the game, and then fell to a Mohamed Salah goal in their second group match, which they still believe they scored a good equaliser, that was cancelled late in the encounter.
Speaking yesterday, Guinea Bissau midfielder, Panutche Camara, declared their readiness to stop the Super Eagles in today’s match, saying: “I am very confident that we will win against Nigeria tomorrow (today). I know that the Super Eagles parade big players in Europe, but we will match them strength for strength.”
He added that the Djurtus wouldn’t make the same mistakes that caused them the game against Egypt.
The coach, Baciro Cande, also stated that the Super Eagles must fall. “We want to prove a point that Guinea Bissau have good players who are capable of winning the AFCON title here in Cameroon.”
