The Wells Carlton Hotel and Luxury Apartments, a five-star hotel in Abuja, has signed in as a friend of the IAAF silver label Okpekpe International 10km Road Race in the hotel and hospitality category.

Okpekpe Race’s Director of Organisation, Zack Amodu said yesterday that the hotel and luxury apartments decided to join the historic race because of its pace-setting role in getting international recognition for a road race to showcase the rustic and beautiful landscape of Okpekpe, a town in Etsako East local council of Edo State.

“The owner of the hotel, Captain Idahosa Wells Okunbo is an illustrious son of Edo State. He is a Nigerian business magnate, investor, philanthropist and trained commercial pilot, who spared no expense in creating the world-class Wells Carlton Hotel and Luxury Apartments for those who demand only the very best.

“We are delighted to have this respected and highly successful Nigerian join us as we continue to put the country’s name on the map of the world as a very safe place to come to and a destination for sports,” said Amodu.
