Brighton have gained something of a reputation in recent years as a club that excels at identifying and nurturing young talent. Countless players have passed through the gates of the American Express Community Stadium, emerging as top athletes and netting the club a tidy profit.

Loans play an important role in the football world. Younger players who aren’t quite ready for the first team can go out and get game time elsewhere, allowing them to build experience and skills before returning to their parent club. Other teams might look to loan players to solve last-minute injury issues or squad gaps. Brighton makes extensive use of the loans system. Who are the hottest Brighton prospects currently out on loan? Find out here.

Deniz Undav

Deniz Undav is a Brighton forward who is currently on loan at Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart. Brighton signed Undav from Belgian side Union SG in 2020 for a fee of €7 million. He was sent straight back to USG on loan until the end of the 2021/22 season before returning back to Brighton.

In the 2022/23 season, Undav made 30 appearances for Brighton, scoring eight goals and helping the team secure a famous victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford.

For the 2023/24 season, Undav has been sent out on a season-long loan to VfB Stuttgart. Brighton hope the German international will further hone his skills in his home country and return an even more promising prospect.

Kacper Kozlowski

Kacper Kozlowski is a Polish midfielder who plays for the Polish national team and is currently on loan from Brighton to Eredivisie club Vitesse.

His career started at Polish side Pogon Szczecin before being snapped up by Brighton in 2022 for a transfer fee of €11 million. He’s a highly-rated youngster, just 19 years old. Fans were delighted at his arrival, and would no doubt have been checking the Unibet odds for any games he was involved in.

However, Kozlowski was immediately sent out on loan to USG, before returning and then being sent back out on loan again to Vitesse. Kozlowski is still young and learning his trade, so these loans will be doing him the world of good and should see him return as an even better player.

Abdallah Sima

Abdallah Sima is a forward from Senegal who Brighton purchased from Slavia Prague in 2021 for a sum of €8 million. After joining Brighton, Sima was sent out on loan to Championship side Stoke City. However, injury setbacks limited his game time, and he only made four appearances for Stoke.

For the 2022/23 season, Sima was sent out on loan to Ligue 1 side Angers, where he made 37 appearances, scoring six goals and bagging two assists.

This season, Sima has been sent out on loan to Glasgow Rangers, where he is under the tutelage of rookie manager Michael Beale. Despite playing a part in Rangers’ humiliating opening day defeat to Kilmarnock, both Rangers and Brighton fans hope Sima will come good.

Jeremy Sarmiento

Jeremy Sarmiento is a winger currently out on loan to West Brom. With Spanish and Ecuadorian descent, Sarmiento spent his youth career split between Charlton and Benfica.

He joined Brighton in 2021 and has made 19 appearances for the club. He hasn’t scored for Brighton but assisted in Karou Mitoma’s winner in a 1 – 0 victory over Bournemouth.

For the 2023/24 season, Sarmiento has been loaned out to West Brom. Brighton will hope he can develop further there before making a return to his parent club.

In conclusion, Brighton have plenty of players out on loan, all of whom have bags of potential and should hopefully use their loans to develop their skills further and become better players.
