The Aisha Buhari Foundation, the pet project of the wife of the president, Aisha Buhari, has donated food items and other food supplements to the indigent and less privileged people in Abia State.

The items, which include; 1,000 bags of rice, 1,000 cans of cooking oil, tomatoes and other food supplements, were distributed to 1,000 beneficiaries, in Umuahia North Local Government Area of the state.

Represented by the state governor’s wife, Deaconess Nkechi Ikpeazu, Buhari said she chose to begin her “Future Assured” Programme, with the state because of her passion for Abians.

She urged more privileged Nigerians to give assistance to the less-privileged and indigent members of the society, noting that the state governor’s wife had before then engaged in humanitarian gestures. She appreciated the governor, Okezie Ikpeazu for standing by his wife and supporting all her programmes in that regard.
