Every time we talk about the Kingdom of God, it is all about God becoming the King of your life. If God is the King of your life, it means that God is in charge.

Text: John 3:1-5

Key Verse: John 3:4, “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (KJV)

Every time we talk about the Kingdom of God, it is all about God becoming the King of your life. If God is the King of your life, it means that God is in charge. If God is the King of your life, it means that God is in control of your life. If God is the King of your life, it means that God is the owner of your life. If God is the King in your life, it means that God is the power of your life, If God is the King of your life, it means that God is the authority of your life and if God is the King of your life, it means you don’t own yourself anymore, God Has taken control.

There are people who live in the flesh and walk in the flesh. There are people who walk in the spirit. You cannot become a man of the spirit until you have given your life to Christ. But you can be a man of the flesh any day and it is not difficult to be a man of the flesh. David said, “In iniquity did my mother conceive me” (Psalm 51:5). He was conceived in sin; he was born in sin into a world filled with sin and so, he began to have a relationship with sinners. Everybody he had a relationship with was a sinner except if that person had given his life to God in the Old Testament times.

What does the Bible say about the flesh? The Bible said those who live according to the flesh think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit (Romans 8:5). The flesh craves for things that displease God (Galatians 5:17). The mind governed by the flesh harbours enmity against God; for it does not obey God’s law and it never will (Romans 8:7). It is all about the Spirit and flesh, and when a person lives in the flesh, he walks about in the flesh and carries about the works of the flesh, he can never please God, he is an enemy to God and it will not work between that person and God (Galatians 5:17).

We are conceived in iniquity and born into a world of iniquity, which is infested by the sin of all types, but as we submit ourselves to the Holy Spirit, He begins to wage war against this old fallen nature of sin and renewing us into the likeness of Christ. When you are born again, a new nature of Christ is born in your soul and you begin to grow in Christ-likeness (Galatians 5:19-21). Anybody who is living in sin should not deceive himself because he knows he is not having any living relationship with God. Jesus said, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, and murders (Mark 7:21). You may ask, is there an adulterer in the church? The answer will most likely be yes. Different classes of people in some of the churches today have been found and disciplined for the sin of adultery.

When you live in sin and you think God does not see you; then you are foolish. It is foolishness to live in sin, whether it has to do with thought or whatever. We all know that one thing about God is that He is the Omniscience God, He sees everything, He knows everything and He understands everything.
