A Lagos-based Juju music ensemble, Eagle Band, led by veteran musician, Ogunyinka Olalekan Olaitan, is set to embark on a six-month musical tour of the United Kingdom, with performances scheduled across multiple venues from August 2026 to February 2027.
Olaitan, born on June 9, 1973, in Lagos, has spent over two decades in the live music scene, building a reputation as a consistent performer within Nigeria’s Juju music circuit.
The band, comprising 11 members, is expected to showcase a blend of traditional and contemporary sounds aimed at promoting Nigerian culture among diaspora audiences.
According to Olaitan, the tour will commence on August 15, 2026, and run through February 13, 2027. The opening performance, titled “We Love Together,” will hold at Enish, located at 291–293 Ilford High Road, IG1 1NR, London.
The 2026 UK tour is being promoted by Topnotch Global Venture International Limited, a UK-based entertainment outfit.
He also disclosed that further performances include the “Eko Night” show slated for August 19, 2026, at Success Hall, 709 Old Kent Road, London, as well as appearances at the New Nollywood Entertainment Studio, Crown Commercial Centre, 71–73 Nathan Way, London. The band is also billed to perform alongside Odun Akintomide’s band during the tour.
Organisers say the tour will feature a series of live shows across different halls in the UK, targeting the Nigerian diaspora community and lovers of Juju music. It is also expected to serve as a platform for the band to record and launch a new music video.
Olaitan’s musical journey includes formal training at the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ogun State, and further studies at Peter King’s College of Music. His long-term ambition, according to close associates, is to become a household name in the Nigerian music industry.
