COVID-19: Ndukuba wants humanity to recognise God’s power

Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Most Rev Henry Ndukuba has said Coronavirus experience has shown that the world belongs to God and not man. Also, it has revealed the importance of the family unit and that standing together, human beings could resist any onslaught. 

In an interview with journalists in Abuja, Ndukuba said no one envisaged the pandemic, especially the way it came, as the government, church and society were not prepared for it.

He observed that the whole world has suffered and even well-endowed nations have been brought to their knees; showing that power belongs to God.

He called on humanity to give God His place in the world because human beings are helpless and need His help. The Primate wants Nigerians to support one another, pointing out that the government cannot do everything alone. 

He also noted that the pandemic, which brought about certain restrictions, helped families to reconnect. He drew attention to the fact that certain things that had hitherto been prioritised are not more valuable than the family unit.

Explaining the importance of rule of law and obedience to authorities, Ndukuba advised that all these are lessons that should be learnt from the experience and should not be lost when things return to normal.
