It was celebration galore for Nigeria at the just-concluded 15th Panamai West Africa and Cottage Mills Taekwondo Championship, which held in Lagos.

General Overseer, The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries, Worldwide, Pastor Lazarus Muoka ministering in one of the church programmes

2 Peter 3:9, “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

It is expedient for believers all over the world to understand that our Lord Jesus Christ died for the salvation of all men and no man, irrespective of tribe or place of domicile should be allowed to suffer in the hands of the Devil and his agents or go to hell. God’s plan is for all to be saved.

The concluding parts of the lead scripture states: “Not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” There are three aspects of the will of God: firstly, His sovereign will (He is completely independent and with the ability to do all things; no power can challenge Him).

The second is His moral will, the moral law (the perfect law that accepts everybody that believes in Him and obeys His words), and the third is His desires or His love. It is His love that informed the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is His love that made Jesus Christ to die for the sins of the world and to save all men. John 3:16 says: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

The nature of God is love; hence He does not discriminate while offering salvation to all. For as long as one keys into the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary and accepting that through the crucifixion of the innocent and sinless Son of God, your own eternal life in heaven is assured and also live a holy life.

God created the first man, put him in the Garden of Eden and gave him all the comfort. God created man to serve Him, despite that our first parents, Adam and Eve, violated divine instructions, God still opened another window through which man could be saved and live eternal life in bliss. These reasons are enough to prove that God loves human beings and wants all of us to be saved. 1Timothy 2:3-4 says: “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour. 4: Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”

God is our Saviour and our Lord Jesus Christ is His only Begotten Son. Both of them are the same; if you encounter the son, you have equally seen the father, vice versa. We should, therefore, place our faith in God and His son Jesus Christ as our Saviour — the mediator through whom we meet our God, the Father. We understand that God wants all men to be saved. He demands worship from man, which is the purpose He created man. Our salvation and eternal life in heaven is more important than the blessings of the world.

Our service and worship to God must not be based on earthly blessings, but to God, our creator who loved us even when we were sinners. God has promised every man eternal life in heaven and also the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ to rapture the saints.

It is rather unfortunate many people are still thinking of the right way to go, either to depend on the earthly things and the pleasures of the world or to serve God and have eternal life hereafter. This is why Prophet Joel was lamenting in Joel 3:14-16 saying: “Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.15: The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining.16: The Lord also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the Lord will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.”

Prophet Joel was lamenting, despite the day of the Lord being near. There is need for quick decision and action now that the grace is still available and opportunity still abounds for repentance. God is calling on all men to come to the knowledge of the truth, accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, so that, they will be saved when the trumpet shall sound. Time waits for no one and it will rather be unfortunate that after the death of Jesus Christ on the cross people still go to hell. This is contrary to the will of God for the man He created.

Matthew 9:36-38 says: “But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. 37: Then saith he unto his disciples, the harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; 38: Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.”

Currently, a lot of people are confused; they do not understand the reason for their confusion because they do not have proper guidance. There is need for believers, missionaries and evangelists to go into the field to preach the gospel. Many people who are wallowing in wealth think all is well with them, whereas their souls have been mortgaged with earthly possessions that lead one nowhere. Their faith is in their earthly possessions, forgetting that the giver of the wealth will one day ask them to give account of how they lived their life on earth.

The poor on the other hand are thinking that their God has forgotten them, but they do not know that putting their faith on God and serving Him despite their poverty, will lead them to salvation and eternal life in heaven, which is more important than perishable earthly wealth. Christ died for all and wants every man to be saved.

In 2 Corinthians 5:14-15, it is written: “For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge that if one died for all, then were all dead: 15: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.”

Our Lord Jesus Christ died for all, therefore, believers should go into the field of unbelievers to preach and bring them to the knowledge of the truth. Their salvation is more important than the things of this world. Let no man think he is comfortable and has lived a fulfilled life when he is yet to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. Christ is calling you to repentance; you are to heed the call and make heaven at the end of your earthly life.
