Attaining levels of spiritual landmark

Text: Ezekiel 47:1-5 Key Verse: Ezekiel 47:5, “Then he measured another 1,750 feet, and the river was too deep to walk across. It was deep enough to swim in, but too deep to walk through.” (NLT)

Ezekiel was a prophet to whom God revealed Himself through Vision. You can also see that in Ezekiel Chapter 37, God spoke to Ezekiel through vision of the dry bones.

In Ezekiel 47, in a vision a man brought Ezekiel into the temple and Ezekiel saw water flowing eastward from beneath the temple to the altar. It was a strange experience for Ezekiel and very unusual encounter, so he felt excited. Before Ezekiel could knew it, the water started flowing on the ground of the temple and overflow outside the temple.

The Man that took Ezekiel into the temple measured 1,750 Feet and the water was ankle deep. The Man measured another 1,750 feet and the water was knee deep. Another measurement of 1,750 feet, the water was waist deep. He took another measurement of 1,750 feet; the water became a river that was deep enough to swim in and fish in, but could not be crossed.

Every genuine spiritual experience of any believer in Christ begins at the altar. The water in Ezekiel 47 symbolises the Cross of Jesus Christ. Every Christian encounter must originate from the cross of calvary.

The genuine life, that is worth living starts from acknowledgement of Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour. The Christian life experience that begins at the cross of calvary does not end there; next you begin to grow in the knowledge of God and in the Spirit. If you continue to follow the Holy Spirit guidance and leadership, you shall experience greater dimension of spiritual life and experience.

There is no life here on earth that is more exciting than Christian life. Ezekiel attained different levels of spiritual landmark, as the man in the vision was leading him. As Ezekiel journeyed with the Spirit of God, he hit the ankle level; knee level; waist level and over flow level of spiritual landmark.

Landmarks You Must Attain in Your Chrisitian Journey:
• Landmark of Redemption
Redemption is a theological word and it simply means being brought back or buying back. Man lost his liberty through sin in the Garden of Eden and Satan took over the rulership of man. God so loved man that He didn’t want man to continue on the road of misery and Hell, God came down in the form of man through His Son, Jesus and brought salvation to mankind. At this Redemption level of spiritual landmark, you discover that you are no longer a candidate of Hell Fire because Jesus has paid the price of redemption. You are no longer a slave to sin, flesh and Satan but a candidate of Heaven. To attain this redemption level of the spiritual life, you must receive Jesus, Who died for you by surrendering your life totally to Him.

• Landmark of Victorious Christian Life
As you journey on the road of redemption, you shall discover the power of God locked in you. You will discover that you are not the weakling you think you are and begin to enjoy the enormous power of God locked inside of you. At this level of spiritual experience, you can resist sin and say no to sin. You now have the power of God to pursue the devil into his territory and take men and women alive out for the kingdom of God.

• Landmark of Discovering God
As you journey and swim in the river of righteousness, you shall discover God and anchor your life in Him. No wave can push you around, as you remain constant in God. At this level of spiritual life, you drink God; dance in God; rich in God and think in God.

At this level, God becomes your all and all without any form of reservation.

When you discover God, you become an incurable worshipper of God.

There is much more excitement in God as you ever think of, but it demands that you go deeper in Christ. It calls for personal devotion and drawing close to God. The secret of drawing down the presence of God is by drawing close to God.
