Be fruitful

What does it mean to be Fruitful? It means producing good results; producing many offspring; fertile and productive. To be fruitful is to be productive. To be fruitful is to originate an idea that will produce prosperity. It is by your fruitfulness that you bless the world. Being fruitful is manifesting success. There are three major categories of people on earth: Fruit makers (producers), Fruit Sellers (retailers) and Fruit Eaters (consumers). Where you fall into in these major categories will determine your placement in life.

To “be fruitful” is one of the genetic makeups of a man. It empowers him to exercise dominion on earth. “Be” is a command to obey and not a suggestion. “Be” is a demand on potentials God had already deposited in man. When God says, “be”, you must be. It is an imperative laid upon you. The instruction to be fruitful is actually a divine law. God takes delight in you being fruitful and frowns at unfruitfulness. In Matthew 25, a Master gave three of his servants, five talents, two talents and one talent respectively and travelled to a far country. While he was away, he that had five talents traded with it and got more five talents (10 talents) and likewise he that had two talents got more two talents (four talents).

But he that received one went and hid it in the ground and did not trade with it (no talent). When their master returned and called his servants to come and give an account of the talents given to them before he travelled. They all gave accounts of what they did with the talents given to them. Their master applauded the two servants who invested their talents and got more. He said to them, “Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things” (Matthew 25:21-23).

To the servant whom he gave one talent that went and hid it, the Master collected it from him and gave it to the servant that had 10 talents. Proverbs 22:7 say, the rich will rule over the poor.

You were designed for progress, for multiplication, for relevance and influence.

Since God commanded us to be fruitful, fruitfulness then amounts to ‘keeping the law’, and so creates happiness. Of course, when you are fruitful and productive, you will experience a deep sense of fulfillment. “…But he that keepeth the law, happy is he,” (Proverbs 29:18b). God cuts off fruitless branches and reward fruitfulness. God created man to exercise dominion on earth. Do you think that God will expect anything else than being fruitful? No, He does not!

Bill Gate became great by creating Microsoft’s first version of the windows operating system. The launch of Windows 95 redefined home computing and began a golden age for Bill Gates’ company. God invested so much in creating you, so He does not expect anything less than being fruitful. He designed you so that people will be paying for your thinking.

Fruitfulness is not only in child bearing. Don’t have only physical babies alone; start producing something that will bless humanity. Be fruitful at your workplace and generate ideas that will help your organisation to grow. Fruitfulness is the outcome of your productive thinking. God is honoured when you are fruitful. God gives more to the one who is fruitful (Matthew 25). God blesses fruitfulness.
