Breaking the power of the grave – Part 2

Life is full of troubles and wickedness. No man of any religion or social class is exempted from this.

From our Bible text, we see the cry of the Psalmist for the redemption of his soul from the power of the grave. When a man is overwhelmed with life’s troubles, the inclination of his heart is naturally towards the fear of death. Even though everyone is destined to die someday, no man wants to die untimely and without fulfilling his life purpose. This is why the devil and his agents use the power of the grave to manipulate and truncate men’s destinies.

Grave goes hand-in-hand with death and another characteristic we see of the grave is that it has the victory. 1Cor. 15:55 says “O death, where is your sting, O grave where is your victory?” When death stung Lazarus, the grave declared its victory over him but when the power of the grave in him met Jesus it lost its victory. I prophesy, every victory of the grave working against your life and destiny, God will destroy in Jesus name.

Again, the grave has a gate. Isa 38:10 says “I said in the cutting of my days, I shall go to the gates of the grave: I am deprived of the residue of my years.” Many lives have been ruined by the power of the grave when they are just about to enter into God’s divine blessings and glory and are therefore robbed of their earthly reward and inheritance. The only son of a widow in “Luke 7:11-15” was cut short by this power, until Jesus stepped in. May Jesus step into your case today.

Another thing we see is that the grave has a key. Jesus, in Rev 1:18 [NLT] said: “I have the keys of death and grave.” Since the grave has a gate, it has a key. Rejoice because this key is with our Lord Jesus, Who has the power to open the gate and set its captives free. When Jesus cried, ‘IT IS FINISHED’ on the cross, it marked the end and demise of the ravaging power of the grave over your life. When He left the cross to the grave, He commanded every grave and everlasting door to be lifted up “Psa. 24:7-10”. “And the graves were opened and many bodies of the saints which slept arose.” (Matt.27:52). I decree that anything that belongs to you that has been trapped by the grave will jump out today by fire.

There are reasons why satanic powers consult with the graveyard spirits. The first of them is to bury the lives, destinies, virtues, wealth and health of people and to reduce them to nonentities. Secondly, it is an avenue to carry out evil exchange. A couple of years ago, a young man ran to me trembling with fear. He confessed that in an attempt to get quick wealth, he consulted a witch doctor, who did some rituals for him and instructed him to sleep in the cemetery for seven days. After this exercise, he said all hell was let loose on him. His whole life became a nightmare characterised by suicidal tendencies and his financial condition worsened. Unknown to him, a satanic exchange had been done in his life. You must be careful what you crave and where you go to seek help. Another reason why men consult with graveyard spirits is to invoke the angel of death upon their victims. Finally, it is a medium to transfer afflictions and madness into men’s lives. I pray for you that every power of the grave over your life expires today in Jesus name.
