Over 8,000 church leaders and workers are expected to attend the Foursquare Gospel Church International Conference titled, “Faith For Great Expliots,” that will begin on Monday, April 14.
The five-day event, according to the General Overseer of Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria, Reverend Sam Aboyeji, will end on April 18, at the church’s campgroup at KM 75, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, near Ajebo, Ogun State.
At a press briefing in Lagos, Reverend Aboyeji said the church takes delight in equipping its pastors, leaders, workers and members to become better Christians, result-driven leaders and to positively influence the world for Christ.
He said that the training of its pastors and members date back to 1955, when the church’s LIFE Theological Seminary was founded, which was also the year the church was established in Nigeria, through the missionary work of an American couple, Reverend Harold and Faye Curtis.
Based on that, the church had continued to place a special premium on equipping its workforce to adapt to the realities of propagating the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ through the Foursquare platforms, as well as to live as Christ’s ambassadors here on earth.
Describing the International Conference for Ministers and Leaders (ICML) as a flagship training programme, Aboyeji said all Foursquare churches in Nigeria, West Africa, Europe, as well as other denominations within Nigeria are expected to grace the occasion.
He said: “This training in Nigeria in the 1970s was known as the National Leaders and Workers Retreat (NLWT) before was rebranded as the International Conference for Ministers and Leaders (ICML.”
Those expected to speak at the conference include the General Overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Ghana, Rev. Francis Sey; President, Koinonia Ministries, Ibadan; Rev. Emiko Amotsuka; and Founder/President of The Word Commission International and The Word Assembly Churches, Ilorin, Rev. Isaac Omolehin.
Aboyeji also disclosed that the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria would be 70 years in October 2025, and activities lined up to mark the event will climax with the grand finale at the 70th yearly National Convention to be held at Ajebo Camp in October 2025.
