Text: 2Kings 4:1-7
Key Verse:Genesis 1:28: “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” (KJV)
Poverty is the absence of self-production. Jesus said in Matthew 26:11 that you will always have the poor among you. The word “poor” there does not mean those who lack resources, but it means the non-productive ones. The first command God gave man is to produce. God says, “be fruitful.” The word “fruitful” in the original Hebrew is not just about having a child. It means to be productive. It means to produce something to sell. Genesis 1:28 is God’s programme of prosperity on the earth. The problem is that some believers accepted the Principal (God), but not following His principles while the non-believers are applying His principles even though they rejected Him. It, therefore, means that applying the principles of Genesis 1:28 guarantees prosperity on earth.
In Genesis Chapter 1, we see the four key things that will make a man prosperous if he follows and applies them in his life. They are be fruitful; multiply; replenish and subdue.
To be fruitful is to produce fruits. It means to give birth to a product or service. It means to produce something and sell it to the world. McDonald is one company that has followed God’s prosperity programme on earth. The company has produced, multiplied, replenished and subdued the earth with their products. The company is an American fast-food chain that is one of the world’s largest; it is known for its hamburgers. Big Mac is their best-selling burger.
The second principle for wealth creation in Genesis 1:28 is to multiply. To multiply means to reproduce what you have produced. McDonald’s signpost says, “Billions and Billions Served.”
The third principle of having dominion on earth is to “replenish.” It means to distribute and fill the earth with your product or service. For example, McDonald started in 1940 and by 2024, it operates in 43,477 locations in over 100 countries.
By their business operations all over the world, they have discovered God’s programme for being prosperous on earth.
The fourth requirement of having dominion is to “subdue.” It means to control the market. McDonald has no interest in competition; they are after dominating the market. If you are in business and you do not have plan to dominate the market, I don’t think you should be in business. The ultimate goal of a company is market dominance. A company’s marketing strategy is centered on market dominance. Apple is one of the best computer companies in the world. They dominate the key markets they play in, and are also a contender in others.Google has market dominance in search engines. When you have market dominance you have even more space to innovate and create new breakthroughs in your business.
Apple and Google are disrupting themselves constantly. They are not sitting back as they try to defend their current market dominance and enter new markets like AR and AI.
You have something to sell to the world, be it a product or service. People around you have needs; be the person selling to the people around you. Markets exist whether you are participating or not. Learn skills in areas that people need most, so that, you can solve problems in that area. You are paid for the problems you solve. You must offer some values for the money you are paid. Jesus was going about solving people’s problems.
In Luke 8:1-3, a certain woman whose Jesus ministry has affected positively blessed Jesus with material things. Until value leaves you, you cannot have financial resources.
