Everyone has something to sell. The real money is not the Naira notes in our pockets and banks. The real money in today’s world is value. Value must leave your hands in exchange of money. How do we create value? It is simply by solving problems or catering for the needs of people around us. So, we create value by offering solution in the form of a product or service to the people. You cannot create wealth out of nothing. To earn money, you must sell something, whether it is tangible or intangible. Some people are like the poor widow, who thought she had nothing to sell.
It is poverty mindset to say you have nothing. Stop looking down on yourself, you have something valuable inside of you to offer to your world. God blessed man and endowed him with potentials. It was not until the poor widow began to pour the jar of oil into the borrowed vessels that the oil began to multiply. You will only experience success when you put your talents into use. Talent and skill put into use will lead to wealth creation.
You have a potential to be big, but you have to put what you have to work. Everything great, started small.Just do something and let value leave you and money will follow you. Prophet Elisha instructed the poor widow to sell the containers of oil and settle her debt. Before the poor widow sold, she was living in poverty together with her two sons, but after she sold, she came out of debt and lived a debt-free life all the days of her life. The gateway out of poverty is to sell something of value to people. Begging is not a valid strategy out of poverty. Poverty is absence of self-production. There is a skill, product, book, business idea, among others, inside of you. It is your responsibility to develop them and deploy them for the world to see. As a pastor, you must learn how to roast your game; you can turn those beautiful sermon notes into books.
Those who create wealth are rulers of the world while others are under them. In Matthew 25, the master of the three servants collected the one talent from the servant that hid it and gave it to the servant that he gave five talents that got more five talents. People won’t entrust more money into your hands if you lack capacity to make returns on the money entrusted into your hands.
The Master said to the guy who got more talents, “well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord,” (Matthew 25:21). It may not sound politically correct to take from who has just one talent and give to a person who has 10 talents already, but there are different rules of engagement. The hard truth is that no employer of labour services liability, they rather invest in assets. Money responds to the man who creates value. If you give credit to a person who lacks the capacity to repay you, you are not a wise businessman, but a good man.
Don’t just start a business, solve a problem. When you solve a problem, you have created value. You must be value driven and value conscious. Money responds to people who solve problems. Increase your value and your net worth will increase.Stop pursuing Naira note and increase your value.
