When everything looks hopeless, how can we hope in God? Problems can bring us closer to God and make us more dependent on Him. God uses our situation to build us, so we can be stronger and be highly experienced, physically and spiritually, in this woeful world. We seek God more intensely, when we experience difficulties than when things are rosy for us. At times, our greatest time of growth is when we lack resources or money and all we have left is God. Problems of life make us depend more on God.

“Yes, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me” (Psalm 23:4). David’s reliance in God gave him comfort and strength. Whenever there is a shadow there’s a light. You may also be walking through the valley of the shadow of barrenness, sorrow, poverty etc. There is a light walking with you in that valley, which is Jesus. God still loves us, whether we go through good or bad circumstances. We can determine God’s love by the price He paid on the cross for our sins. Those who have gone astray should come back to Christ, and their lives would never remain the same.

The grace of God is sufficient for us in whatever situation we are passing through. You may be weak, but God is making you stronger than ever. The grace of God is obtained through Jesus by the power of the Holy Ghost. The challenge you are going through might be the challenge God will use for your breakthrough and uplifting.

“My soul faints for your salvation: but I hope in your word” (Psalm 119:81). The word of God (Bible) is the solution to all problems. “And he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest on me” (2 Corinthians 12:9). What issues have you got? Is it sickness in your body, financial constraint, marital issue etc? Paul says he would glory in his infirmities, so that the power of God might rest upon him. Start giving God the glory concerning your life because the Lord is sending help to you.

Suicide is not the answer. Don’t give up. God is stronger than your worries. Continue to depend on His provision and power.
