The Primate of the Church of the Lord (Prayer Fellowship) Worldwide, Most Rev. Rufus Ositelu had predicted the outbreak of Coronavirus at the Holy Mount Tabieorar last year, precisely in August 2019.

The Primate of the Church of the Lord (Prayer Fellowship) Worldwide, Most Rev. Rufus Ositelu had predicted the outbreak of Coronavirus at the Holy Mount Tabieorar last year, precisely in August 2019.

Our Primate, who shared the post on his Facebook page, confirmed the prophecy following the outbreak of Coronavirus in China. A member of our church, Reoa Anthony, had on January 30 posted a message on his Facebook page referring to the prophecy on the outbreak of Coronavirus in China released in 2019.

Anthony said: “Divine Revelation to China from the Holy Mount Tabieorar, Ogere-Remo for the Year 2020, 18th August 2019: ‘The Lord says, this country will make new discoveries that will cause the glory of the country to be more manifested. The Lord says the secret of the ungodly and fraudsters will be exposed. And the Lord says we should pray against the outbreak of strange diseases in the country. Also, the Lord says there shall be a breakthrough in the search for a cure.

“The above divine revelation for China was revealed to the man of God during the Tabieorar Retreat in August 2019, and published in the same month of August 2019. Let us pray to God to have mercy and not allow this Coronavirus to become an outbreak of a pandemic disease around the world, and that God should grant the world the necessary breakthrough for a cure,” Ositelu added.

Another member of the church, Adebayo Anthony Kehinde, on Facebook, confirmed the message as revealed by the man of God last year, saying, “The current outbreak in China was revealed during our last year Tabieorah festival and documented.”

In a January 29 ‘Open Letter to the President of Nigeria,’ Primate Ositelu, fondly called the Aladura Patriarch, said, “Hundreds of Chinese left Nigeria for China to celebrate their annual festival –Lunar New Year– to return next week. At the moment, over 300,000 Chinese are already infected with Coronavirus and over a hundred have died from the virus.

“The Federal Government should take serious precautions and preventive actions before we have an epidemic in Nigeria. Coronavirus in Nigeria will be a catastrophe. There is no cure for the disease as of today.

“The FG should please take necessary precautions to prevent the virus from entering Nigeria, and that includes checking all aircraft, especially those coming from Asia to Nigeria. God Bless Nigeria.”

The death toll from the new virus, which is officially called 2019-nCov, hit 259 on Saturday.Almost 12,000 cases have been confirmed worldwide, with more than 11,800 of those in China. At least 26 other countries have reported cases, including three in Japan, two in the United Kingdom and two in Australia on Saturday.

Beijing has taken unprecedented measures to try to contain the virus, including placing millions of people in major cities on lockdown and extending the Lunar New Year holiday.

The United States and Australia close borders to Chinese arrivals. Countries around the world have closed their borders to arrivals from China, as officials work to control the rapid spread of Coronavirus.Earlier, countries including Russia, Japan, Pakistan and Italy announced similar travel restrictions.

But global health officials have advised against such measures.“Travel restrictions can cause more harm than good by hindering info-sharing, medical supply chains and harming economies,” the head of the World Health Organisation (WHO) said on Friday.

The WHO recommended introducing screening at official border crossings. It has warned that closing borders could accelerate the spread of the virus, with travellers entering countries unofficially.

China has criticised the wave of travel restrictions, accusing foreign governments of ignoring official advice.Speaking further at the church’s (Tabieorar) 83rd celebration, held in Ogere Remo, Ogun State in 2019, Ositelu called on President Muhammadu Buhari to aggressively combat corruption and insecurity in Nigeria. He also urged the President and the National Assembly to promote fiscal federalism and regional/zonal integration that would breed healthy competition among the component units of the federation.

The cleric said the church of God does not exist in a vacuum and, therefore, had the duty to speak truth to power at certain times, especially when there were serious issues calling for urgent attention of government at all levels. The Primate charged government to harness the human and natural resources the country was blessed with for the good of all through good governance.

“Corruption remains the monster that has eaten deep into the socio-economic and political fabric of our society. The need to combat it aggressively has become more imperative. If we can effectively fight corruption, over half of our challenges will be over. Government must not relent in its efforts, as corruption will definitely try to fight back. All and sundry should be involved in the fight against corruption and perpetrators should be prosecuted and dealt with in accordance with the law.”

Speaking on the issue of peace and security, Ositelu said the disturbing state of security in the country, despite all efforts, had made it necessary for the government to review the security architecture of the country, stressing that the primary function of government all over the world is to protect citizens’ lives and property.
