I will build my church
Text: Mathew 16:18
The Apostolic Conference For Church Leadership, titled, Who Is On The Lord’s Side? held February 20 to 22, 2020, with the theme:
I Will Build My Church
. The vision was “To Restore The Lost Souls, Backsliders To Their First Love For God And To Raise A Rapture Minded People And Second Coming Of the Lord Jesus Christ.
On the first day of the event, Pastor Christopher, convener of the school of marriage, spoke on the topic: “Marriage” and it was taken from 1Corinthians 13: 4-7.
He said marriage was an institution created by God Himself. He highlighted reasons why God created marriage, saying God created marriage to please Him; to give him pleasure (Revelation 4:11); for companionship; for sexual intimacy/enjoyment; to procreate “Reproduction.” Marriage is a divine assignment, a tool of revenge to the enemy (Ephesians 3:10) and a replicant between Jesus and the Church.
He advised the congregation to be careful how they treat their spouses. As a Christian minister, you ought to keep building your marriage with God’s guidelines. Psalm 110:1 says, “Husbands love your wives, and wives submit to your husbands.” Couples embrace 1 Corinthians 13: 4.
The second Speaker, Senior Pastor WELARM Assembly, Evangelist Samuel Olutoye spoke on “You Know What You Are Doing,” taken from Luke 23:34, and Matthew 7: 21-23. He said no matter who you are here on earth, one day, you shall give account of your deeds. According to him, God has set aside an appointed day for all to give account of their deeds. He warned that ‘not all that call my name, shall enter the Kingdom of God,’ as could be seen from Matthew 7:21.
Olutoye advised people to know what they are doing, saying they have left the true Word of God and are now running after the things of the world. Heaven, he said, is real, just like hell is real. He called on the congregation to retrace their steps now. Urging the people to remember that “We Are Co-labourers With Christ To Build His Church (not physical building but spiritual building), Ephesians 5:27. He said: “Remember That The House Must Be Holy And Without Blemish. We Are The Temple Of God. 1Corintians 6:19-20; a Carnal Man Cannot Be With Christ. Romans 8: 5-7; and Separate Yourself From Them That Live In Error. 2Cor. 6: 14-17.
A 10-minute prayer session was anchored by Bishop John Oyedeji. There were also joint prayers for God to lead the Church, the grace of God to run His designed purpose for our lives and for the fear of God to overtake the Church.
On the second day of the programme, Evang. Samuel Olutoye spoke on the topic: Flee These Things taken from John 2:16, which says flee from the things that do not please God. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and its righteousness, and every other thing shall be added unto you. Repent from every distraction. T
On the third day, he spoke on The Church Yesterday And The Church Today and encouraged the people to be followers of Jesus Christ, keep to His word, set themselves as His temple, so that He can dwell in them. He urged leaders to perfect holiness and emphasised that, “When The Power Of God Is Restored In The Church, Evil Shall Bow In Nigeria.”
Altar call was made and many people gave their lives to Christ.
