“I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from my enemies” (2Samuel 22:4). “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful to him, and bless his name,” (Psalm 100:4).

“I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from my enemies” (2Samuel 22:4). “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful to him, and bless his name,” (Psalm 100:4).

OUR God is worthy of praise and worship. Praise is due to him on account of his majesty, greatness, holiness, wisdom, power, goodness and mercy. “For the LORD is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods” (Psalm 96:4).

God is so great and his greatness is unsearchable. “To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen” (Jude 1:25).

Thank God for what he has done for you in the past, what he’s doing now, and for what he’s going to do in the future. Be thankful for good health. Be thankful for being able to breathe without a ventilator. Be thankful for his provisions and shelter. Forget about the difficulties you are going through and thank him for all his goodness, because some wish they had what you have. Some are looking up to God and praying that he blesses them with the same glory and blessings you possess, which you don’t appreciate. Giving glory to God after he has blessed you is an act of gratitude. Thanking God before it happens is an act of faith. If you still don’t know how to praise God, start praising him from the book of Psalms.

Praises to God ushers in the manifestation of God’s presence into one’s life. Praise defeats the enemy. All spiritual battles are conquered through Praise. The book of 2 Chronicles, Chapter 20 explains how Judah was challenged by a huge army beyond the Dead Sea.

King Jehoshaphat and the people sought God. In obeisance to his word, musicians and singers of God’s praise, lead the way. The praises of the people were heard by God; the songs of their faith were heard, and their enemies were destroyed.

We are going to be praising God in heaven for eternity. That’s why we have been saved. Begin to praise God when your prayers are getting dry, and they will become juicy again. If you feel downcast sometimes, pull out the groans from your plans, and shove in some hallelujahs, and see if you won’t experience the light of God. Sometimes, if you don’t know what to pray about, start praising him. When it seems God is not near, remember to praise him, because he dwells in the praise of his people.
