
Participants at a lecture held in honour of the late Dr. Alex Uruemu Ibru have eulogised the gentleman for establishing Ibru International Ecumenical Centre, Agbarha-Otor, Delta State.
Titled, “Keeping Dreams Alive: The Power Of Bridge Building,” the lecture was held at the Ibru centre from November 25 to 30.
Participants passionately appealed for the lecture to be a continuous exercise, enjoining the management of the facility to keep the founder’s dream alive. They prayed to God to raise people, like Dr. Alex Ibru in this generation, whose legacies transcends the shores of their immediate families and communities.
The week-long leadership school and memoriallecture was organised by the management of the Ibru Centre headed by the Rector, the Venerable Stephen Wolemonwu
Venerable Gabriel Kpangba, who served as Chaplain, St. Peters Chapel, Ibru Centre for almost ten years delivered the leadership lecture.

The Rector appreciated Dr. Cecilia Michael Ibru for her support, encouragement and contributions towards the success of this year’s events. He also prayed for the Ibru family and dynasty, all those that made the memorial lecture a successs.
The Chairman, Ughelli North Local Council of Delta State, Olorogun Jaro Movudu Egbo, praising the late Dr. Ibru as a good Urhobo man and a worthy Nigerian said, the contributions of the late Ibru Centre founder to the Urhobo nation and Nigeria at large will not be forgotten, adding that Dr. Ibru was among the few whose effort placed the minority groups in the country on a world map.
In attendance were pastors and the clergy from within and outside the Anglican Communion. Other participants came from Rivers, Anambra, Abia and Delta states.
Other highlights of the lecture included practical sessions with questions and answers, presentation of certificate and awards to some individuals and partners of Ibru Centre.
