Dr (Mrs) Shade Olukoya, wife of Dr Daniel Kolawole Olukoya, the General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, has urged wives to maintain a warm and playful relationship with their husbands, emphasising that such an approach is both a divine duty and a means to preserve youthfulness. In a recent address, she stressed the importance of light-hearted interaction, suggesting that spending time in play not only strengthens the marital bond but also has a rejuvenating effect on both partners.
Speaking candidly, Dr Shade Olukoya explained that her role as a wife is to help her husband by keeping him happy and engaged. “I play with my husband; I make him laugh every day. Whether in the kitchen or elsewhere, I tickle him and sometimes even pretend I can carry him, even if he jokingly tells me not to break my back,” she said with a coy laugh. Her words convey a deep belief in the transformative power of play, which she described as sparking a chemical reaction that lightens the burdens of daily life and fosters a sense of shared joy.
Dr Shade Olukoya added that laughter and togetherness are essential, particularly in the demanding environment of ministry, where many private and challenging issues require careful handling. “We pray together, talk together and reason together. This unity has been very helpful in our journey. It is important that two perfectly become one, complementing one another through understanding and shared strength,” she explained.
She further stressed that a marriage where love is nurtured through play remains eternally youthful. “When you are engaged in playful moments, you forget your age. It is as if a beauty spell is cast on you, keeping you both young and rejuvenated,” she asserted. According to her, such a dynamic not only enriches the marital relationship but also reflects the living presence of God in the home. “A godless life is a loveless life. Let love grow and fill your relationship, and you will always feel youthful and beautiful. That is what the presence of God does through His love,” she declared.
Concluding her message, Dr Shade Olukoya prayed fervently for families and marriages, asking that the blessings, presence, and goodness of God continuously overshadow every aspect of their relationships. “May the unending love of the Almighty fill your relationship and guide you through every challenge. Amen,” she prayed.
Her heartfelt counsel offers a refreshing perspective on marriage, reminding wives that a little play and laughter can go a long way in nurturing love, fostering unity, and ensuring that both partners continue to grow together in faith and joy.
