The concept of total transformation through Jesus Christ emphasises the profound change that takes place in the life of a believer upon receiving Jesus as Lord and Saviour. It is more than superficial change; it is a complete inner renewal that impacts every aspect of life—spirit, soul, and body. This transformation is a journey where believers grow into the image of Christ, moving from their old way of living into a new, Christ-centred life. Below, are some of the key points involved in total transformation through Jesus Christ.
New Identity In Christ

When someone believes in Jesus, he becomes a new creation.2 Cor. 5:17-18, says: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18: Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,” (NKJV).

This new identity means that the believer is no longer defined by his/her past mistakes or sins. They are now seen as children of God, forgiven and accepted by grace. The old patterns of guilt, shame and sin no longer have control over them. His desire at this juncture is to please God in all that he does. The things of the flesh or world do not have control over him again.
Renewal Of The Mind

Transformation through Christ involves a change in the way we think. Romans 12:2 says: “And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

The believer’s thoughts begin to align with God’s truth through prayer, study of the Scriptures and meditation on God’s word. This renewal allows them to see the world from God’s perspective, resulting in peace, clarity and purpose.
Sanctification, which is inner purity and which 1 Thess. 4v3 says: “It is the will of God that will begin to manifest in the believer, as against negative, corrupt, immoral and wicked thoughts.

Freedom From Sin And Strongholds
In Christ, believers are empowered to overcome sin. Romans 6:6 explains: “Knowing that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.”The transforming power of Christ gives freedom from addictions, negative habits and destructive behaviours. With the help of the Holy Spirit, believers experience victory over areas that once held them captive.
Living By The Spirit

A total transformation through Christ means living by the guidance and empowerment of the Holy Spirit. Rom 8v14 says: “For as many as are led by the spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”1 Cor. 2v14-15 declares:“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the spirit of God, for they are foolishness unto him, neither can he know them because they spiritually discerned, But he that is spiritual, judgeth all things yet he himself is judge by no man.”

Galatians 5:22-23 describes the fruit of the Spirit thus:”Love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”

As believers surrender to the Spirit’s leading, they display these godly characteristics, reflecting Jesus Christ in their relationships and actions. The Holy Spirit works to sanctify, mould and mature them into the likeness of Jesus Christ daily.

Restoration Of Relationships
Transformation in Jesus Christ affects not only the individual, but also their relationships. 2 Corinthians 5:18 says:“And all things are of God who has reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation.”

As believers experience God’s forgiveness and love, they are empowered to forgive others, restore broken relationships and become agents of peace in their communities.

Living With Purpose And Hope
A transformed life in Jesus Christ brings a renewed sense of purpose.
Jeremiah 29:11says: “For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, not of evil that l may give you an expected end.”

Believers no longer live aimlessly, but are driven by the mission to glorify God, serve others and fulfill His calling. They are also sustained by the hope of eternal life with Jesus Christ.

Perseverance Through Trials
Transformation through Jesus Christ equips believers to endure life’s challenges with faith. James 1:2-4 says:“My brethren count it all joy when ye fall into diverse temptations, knowing that the trying of faith worketh patience.”

Even in trials, believers are not shaken because they trust God’s goodness. Their faith deepens and they grow stronger, knowing that God is working all things for their good. Romans 8:28 says: “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

Engaging In The Great Commandment
Mark 16v15-17: “And he said unto them,“go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptised shall be saved….”

Who are the people that will go? The answer is; those that are transformed through Jesus Christ. Any one that has received total transformation through Jesus Christ will not like his fellow man to go to hell, therefore, he does everything necessary to bring such individual to Christ and thus prepare him/her for heaven at the end of this life.

Conclusion
Total transformation through Jesus Christ is a radical process that changes a person from the inside out. It is not achieved by human effort, but by the grace of God and the power of the Holy Spirit. As believers walk daily with Jesus Christ, they are transformed to reflect His character and carry out His mission. This transformation is ongoing and culminates in eternal life, where they will be made perfect in His presence. Transformation through Christ is an invitation to leave behind the old life and embrace the fullness of life in Him—a journey marked by grace, growth and the promise of everlasting joy.

At this juncture, examine yourself. Have you been transformed through Christ? If not, there is still ample opportunity to do so now. There is no repentance in the grave. Heb.9v27 says:“And as it is appointed unto men once to die and after this, the judgment.”Do not delay, because procrastination is a thief of time; repent now, because tomorrow might be too late. Do not allow the things of this world to distract you or make you to be too busy to forget your creator. “Therefore, thou art inexcusable o man,” (Rom 2v1). There is no amount of excuse that can save any man on that day, so beware!

Mark 8v36-37: “For what shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange of his soul?”

Matt 6v33 says: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto ye.”

Testimony Of The Lord’s Doing
How Two Bottles Of Groundnut Business Trained My Daughter In University

My name is Mercy Nwachukwu; I am from Edo State. I want to thank God for what He has done for me.Promotion comes from God, but it is for them who trust in Him, serving Him with all their hearts in truth and righteousness. This is exactly my portion as God lifted me from grass to grace through my daughter.

By the grace of God, I am a petty trader, dealing on groundnuts. I started this business with only two bottles of groundnut. This made me a laughing stock among in my neighbourhood. Even among friends, relatives and some brethren, but I did not mind the ridicule. During that period, my daughter secured admission into the university, but there was no money to pay for registration and others and she missed that year. The next year, she sat for JAMB again and still secured admission, though there was still no money, but I trusted in the God of Chosen whom I serve with all my heart.

Within some time, money began to come in little by little through the sale of my groundnut. The business began to grow gradually, and in the process, money started coming and I was able to sponsor my daughter through university.

On graduation, she served the nation — went for her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)— and secured a job with Fidelity Bank. She works in one of the branches in Lagos.

When my daughter secured a job in the bank, she started helping me, my mode of dressing changed remarkably; I no longer wear rags, but dress decently.

Now, I travel by air to Lagos and back to Benin City. She has also secured a very decent accommodation for me. God of Chosen is very great.

I am grateful to God for what He has done in my life and that of my daughter.

May His name be highly exalted in Jesus’ name… Amen!I pray for our General Overseer, his family and all the members of Chosen worldwide, that God will grant us the grace to make heaven at the end of this life in Jesus’ name …Amen!
