United Evangelical Church, Umuelechi, Ezendioma Superintendency Ogwe Autonomous Area Conference held its 9th biennial women fellowship convention
The one day convention of women fellowship of United Evangelical Church, Umuelechi, themed: “Persistence in the face of pressure” held on September 16, 2018 and was taken from Luke 18:1-8. Speaking on the theme, Deaconess Rachael Nwagbara enjoined Christians to continue in their faith, looking unto God to help them out in their difficulties. She further urged Christians to always pray, presenting their needs and problems to God for He will come to their rescue despite various pressure/challenges of Life.
The convention, which held at United Evangelical Church, Umuelechi Asa Abia State attracted over 1,500 Christians from far and near. The dignitaries that graced the occasion included, the Secretary of the Area Conference, Rev. S.A.N Nlewedin, Rev. C.T. Odoemlam, Superintendent for Ezendioma Superintendency, Rev.. J.N. Elijah, Host Minister, others are Elder N.O. Nwagbara member representing Ogwe Autonomous Area Conference in our nationa committee, Elder F.I.N. Anyaso, Elder M.A. Nwagbara, Elder A.E. Nwachukwu, Elder F.A Nwagbo, Elder E.N. Ogbulu, wife of the Local Government Chairman Ukwa West Mrs. Nkechi Nwaobiwe, Chief Gideon Amadi represented by the his wife Uginia Monday Amadi, H.R.M Eze Onyemauwa Nwagbara represented by his wife Ugoeze Charity Onyemauwa, H.R.N Eze Tunde O. Ehiemere also represented by his wife Ugoeze Eunice Chioma Ehiemere, Hon. Chinedu Nworgu represented by Hon. Chinwe and Amarachi Queen Enyioko, Pastor Martins Ndiukwu, Pastor Uzoma Nwuke, Pastor C.C. Ubani, Pastor L.O. Enyinna, Pastor C.C. Okpo, Pastor Isaiah Jite, Pastor I.G. Nwachukwu, Deacon Edward Nwankwo, Deacon E.E. Ihenko, Deacon Solomon Anyaogu, Deacon Felix Nworgu, Deacon Okezie Jite, Deaconess Florence O. Nwuju, Deaconess Victoria Eroba, Deaconess Elizabeth Anyaso, Deaconess Cecilia Nwowulo, Deaconess Peace Ogbulu, Deaconess Celine Ogbuji, Chief B.I. Ogbuji, Deaconess Nkechi Ekpo the women fellowship president for Ezendoman Superintendency and Deaconess Roseline Nwagbara Vice President to Ogwe Autonomous Area Conference women fellowship were in attendance.
Convention is held biennially. She regretted the passing on of two of their members Late Mrs. Hannah Isaiah and Late Mrs. Dimgba and prayed God to comfort the bereaved families. She outlined their duties, which include visitation to the motherless babies’ homes, taking care of the less privileged, the widows and pastors. She enjoined the congregation and completion of upstairs. In his own remarks, the chairman of the occasion Chief Gideon Amadi admonished Christians to live a good Christian life and use part of their income for God’s work. While speaking, the wife of the executive chairman of Ukwa West Local Government Mrs. Nkechi Nwaobiwe seriously adopted the convention theme – persistence in the face of pressure and urged all and sundry to imbibe the spirit of patience tolerance and trust in God as this would enhance peace and stability of the society. She recommended highly the teachings and doctrine of the United Evangelical Church even though she is not a member of the church.
Nineteen people were honoured with special awards for their outstanding contributions they are: Mrs. Nkechi Nwaobiwe, Ugoeze Charity Onyemauwa, Mrs. Chinyere Lucky Ogbuji, Mrs. Benice Kingsley Enyite, Mrs. Blessing Dike, Barr. Rosemary Ogbuji, Mrs. Rosemary Chukwuemeka Ezere, Mrs. Odichinma Martins, Mrs. Nkechi Nwachukwu, Mrs. Nkechi Ihenko, Mrs. Patience Dikeji, Mrs. Bessy Anyaogu, Mrs. Iheanyi, Mrs. Ijeoma Adiele, Mrs. Monica Ogbonna, Mrs. Blessing Ekwuluo, Mrs. Eze Eroba, Mrs. Chizoba Chinedu Nworgu, Mrs. Patricia Nwogu.
At the end of the convention, Rev. S.A.N Nlewedim Secretary United Evangelical Church Ogwe Autonomous Area Conference prayed for good health and wisdom of all leaders at all levels of Government and for peace and sustainability of democracy in Nigeria.
