Kids fan club holds mentorship session

Moments With Sandra Fan Club, set up to bring out the best in children, as they learn about academics, career, morals, culture and talent hunt, held a mentorship session recently. Mrs. Funmi Falana, renowned legal activist, hosted the event.

Sandra Odufaderin, founder of the club said: “I am committed to this cause of supporting children to help them focus and reach their goals, while having fun the right way. Since most parents don’t really have time to identify potentials in our children, the club is bridging that gap, while aiding easy follow up and mentoring of the children, to enable them stand out in future.”While admonishing the kids, Mrs. Falana said they should be good citizens and emulate exemplary lives, which is what the mentors are trying to inculcate in them. She expressed her readiness to always support the initiative to ensure that younger people turn out to be better individuals the society can reckon with.

While affirming her commitment to the kids, Wofai Samuel, one of the mentors and a media personality, promised to leave a good legacy and bring out the best in them.

“These kids are our future and I will put in my best to being a good teacher and counsellor, ensuring they toe the right path to life,” she said.

Odufaderin, however, noted that as part of its expansion, they would be having mentors also in Ibadan to ensure they see to the kids’ affairs. She said: “Part of what we do is celebrating every child on his/her birthday. We also organise parties at the end of the year, which is strictly with membership cards. All these can be achieved with a token of N6, 000 per child for the period of one year.”
