Condemnation is God’s sentence against sin. It’s a result of Adam’s offence. Through Adam, sin entered into the world and brought death. Therefore, death was passed upon all men, in view of the fact that all men have sinned. Though through the offence of one, judgment came upon all men, the righteousness of Jesus brought free gift upon mankind to the justification of life. Jesus has come to take away sin and its burden from those who will accept Him, and do His Will.

“A good man obtaineth favour of the LORD: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn” (Proverbs 12:2). “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23). Men with evil deeds, who do not like the light Jesus brought to this world, but darkness, are condemned. Condemnation is increased by unbelief. You will not be condemned if you believe in Christ. But if you do not believe in the name of the only begotten Son of God, you are condemned. Disbelief is an attitude towards God that condemns one on judgment day. Before the throne of judgment, unbelievers will be in a state of self-condemnation. Do not reject Jesus Who grants salvation from death. Unbelievers cannot be saved by their good deeds, but by believing in the gospel, and through repentance.

Condemnation is increased by pride. “Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he falls into the condemnation of the devil” (1Timothy 3:6). The hypocrites are also condemned. “But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation” (Matthew 23:13-14). God hates hypocrisy. Greater damnation awaits people who are stumbling blocks to the children of God. Saints are delivered from condemnation by Christ. Saints hear the Word of God and are doers of the Word. They acknowledge Jesus was sent by God, and they shall have everlasting life. “There is, therefore, now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit” (Romans 8:1). Who can accuse God’s elects? No one, as they have been justified by the blood of Jesus Christ. Jesus died for us and rose again. He is also at the right hand of God, making intercession for us. Let the wicked come to Christ now before it’s too late, to avoid eternal damnation. Chastisements can be designed by God to rescue us from damnation because He wants to teach us His laws and His ways. We are His inheritance, and He will never forsake us. Unbelievers remain under damnation and will incur God’s wrath. The Bible tells us in Numbers 21: 4-9 how the children of Israel murmured against Moses and asked him why he brought them to the wilderness to die of hunger and thirst. They forgot the goodness of God in the past very quickly. The anger of God was kindled against them, and they were bitten by fiery serpents, which killed many. They acknowledged they had sinned against God, and asked for forgiveness and mercy. According to God’s instructions, a serpent of brass was made by Moses and hung on a pole and anyone who looked on this brass serpent after being bitten lived. We will also live when we look upon the cross and believe Jesus. “But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise, and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty” (1Corinthians 1:27). Looking at a snake hung on the pole was an antidote to snake bite. The man hung on the cross is the antidote to every problem of man. “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him” (John 3:36). Have a blessed week.
