Stop the spirit of discouragement
Discouragement is a spirit and it comes often when you do the right things, but get little or no result. It’s one of the devil’s tools to make you feel bad about yourself, to hinder your progress and stop you from being successful. Discouragement is not to be accepted at all. It shouldn’t get a hold of us, it should be fought and in dealing with it, we need toughness and other times tenderness. Jesus said in John 14:1 “ Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me”.
Jesus does not want us to be discouraged, in fact He commanded us not to be because He knew that things would happen and they were going to look very bad.
How To Stop Discouragement Turn to God’s word. Hebrews 4:12 says “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit and of joint and narrow, and is a discerned of the thoughts and intents of the hearts.”
When you are discouraged, you may not feel like getting into the word, but you must go against your feelings.
Take care of yourself physical body. Sleep well and eat well. Giving your body the care it needs will help you feel less discouraged.
Spend time with people who are happy. You’ll naturally feel better, when you spend time with happy people.Stick to your assignment. Don’t give up. Hold on to God’s promise and plan for your life. Learn the habit of giving thanks. It is hard to be discouraged with a thankful heart. Remember what God has done for you in the past and encourage yourself in the Lord.
Resist discouragement in the name of Jesus. Life is spiritual and there’s a spirit of discouragement that we can resist, using the name of Jesus.
1 Peter 5:8-9 says, “Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil walks like a roaring lion seeking for whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.”
You might be going through discouragement today, know that God is with you and He is gracious and kind. You are His most priced possession and He’ll bring your dreams to manifestation. He also gave us the Bible, so that we might have hope.Romans 15:4: “who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?… Nay. In all this things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.’
So, don’t be troubled by what’s happening. Let your heart be ruled by the words of Jesus. He said in John16: 33: “I have said these things to you, that in me you shall have peace, but in the world you will have tribulation. But be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
