The image of God in a man

Text: Genesis 1:26
Then God said: “Let us make man in our image, according to Our likeness’, and let them rule over the fish of the sea, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing, that creeps on the earth.

The image of God in a man signifies Authority, Purity and creativity. God has given man the opportunity to rule over every creature on earth, God has given man the opportunity to take charge of everything on earth.

What is Authority? The power or right to give orders, make decisions and enforce obedience. Man is the only creature given the attributes of God to rule and govern over his subordinate. The spirit of authority should reflect in the live of man daily as man is bound to face situations that will tamper his authority and render him powerless. So many have forgotten the authority given to man to rule over everything on earth even the challenges of man, the truth is so many are ruled and governed by the circumstances around them. A situation takes over the thinking of a man, a challenge before man determines how and when he connects with God, irrespective of the opportunity God has given man to rule over everything on earth. Today man is ruled and takes authority from financial constrains, sicknesses and diseases, Sin, etc.

What is purity? It means freedom from contamination or adulteration. Our God is pure without contamination or blemish and can never be adulterated. The Image Of God In a man should reflect purity without adulteration, without contamination. Every man should live upright with God in purity. Representing the image of God means living a life of purity no stains, no blemishes, no contamination and no adulteration. Man should consider every moves he makes because he represents God at every step.

What is Creativity? The use of imagination or ideas to create something. God is a creative God, that is why everything on earth is beautiful, everything God created is beautiful. A man as an image of God should reflect creativity. Creativity should reflect in every sphere of a man’s life to solve problems around man. Every man should develop a creative mindset, a creative mindset is productive.
