Time for the wind to blow, water flows

Ps 147:18, “He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.”

The spirit of God gives life to the body. In the creation of man, the Bible made us understand that God moulded sand in the form of man and breathed His Spirit into it and the sand became a living being called man.

In the lead Scripture above, the word of God brought the wind that made the water flow. The wind in the context above is the Spirit of God, while the water represents God’s blessings. Where there is God’s Spirit, there is life and God’s blessings. This is why, John 6:63, says: “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”

The flesh has nothing to offer, but the spirit of God, which is manifested through the spoken word of God. When the word of God goes out, it carries the spirit and it gives life to the body; it brings into existence things that were originally not there. It is through the word that the entire earth and everything therein was created. The Biblical account of creation is clearly stated in Genesis 1:1-3, saying: “In the beginning, God created the Heaven and the earth. 2: And the earth was without form, and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3: And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.”

It is through the spoken word of God that things came to being. The word of God is spirit and life. According to biblical account the earth was empty; the spirit of God was moving in the darkness when the decision of creation was made and God through His word brought all things into existence. He first commanded the light to come and there was light. Later, through the outpouring of His Spirit other things both living and non-living things were called into existence. The spirit of God through the spoken word gives life.

There is another scenario where there was a manifestation of the spoken word, giving life. In the Valley of Dry Bones in Ezekiel 37:1-10, the Bible reports thus: “The hand of the Lord was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley, which was full of bones, 2: And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry. 3: And he said unto me, son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord God, thou knowest. 4: Again he said unto me, prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. 5: Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live: 6: And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live, and ye shall know that I am the Lord. 7: So, I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone. 8: And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them. 9: Then said he unto me, prophesy unto the wind; prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, thus saith the Lord God; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon this slain, that they may live. 10: So, I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.”

There had been the earlier announcement of the restoration of the nation of Israel in Ezekiel 36:24, the Lord then gives a visionary manifestation of that promise. The dry bones represent the Israelites, including their great kings and warriors, while the graves symbolise the nations they dwelled at the time of the restoration. There will be the full conversion of the people and they will equally be filled with the spirit of God. It is through the spoken word of God that the spirit gave life to those dry bones in the valley.

The spirit of God through the spoken words gives life as exemplified in the Valley of Dry Bones. Apostle Paul knew the power of the spirit of God. Prior to his conversion to Christianity, he was a legal practitioner, having the Jewish laws at his fingertips; he had the full backing of the Sanhedrin, the entire Israelites populace in the opposition of Christianity. He can command the crowd to unleash mayhem on Christians, but when he became a Christian, realising the power in the Spirit of God, he declared in Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ, which strengtheneth me.” He threw his qualifications as a lawyer overboard and never cared about the huge support of his people and anchored his strength on Christ. Power belongs to God. God has the resources to do all things, including restoration of the dead as witnessed in the Valley of Dry Bones.

Allow the spirit of God to rule and empower you in all situations. The Bible in John 15:5, says: “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”

Human beings are branches to God and a branch has no power of its own and as such can do nothing without the parent tree. The moment a branch is cut off from the parent tree, where it gets nutrients from, it will naturally die.

As a Christian, your daily dependence should be on God, allow the Spirit of God to strengthen and empower you on daily basis. That was why Jesus, teaching His disciples how to pray, asked them to pray or ask for their daily bread. In your personal endeavours, depend on God, as His Spirit will always give you life. In your business and spiritual life; in fact, in everything you do, call on God and the spirit will always be there to quicken you. When you fully depend on God, He will never leave you because He will be there for you.

BROTHER Uchendu John Achi is a Senior Immigration Officer from Imo State. He joined The Lord’s Chosen Ministry in 2013. He also joined the Church’s workforce in 2013.

In 2019, he was transferred to Imo State, where he worshipped at the Church’s State Headquarters and was able to combine his office work with his business, yet he was still not serious with God. But last year, 2021, he attended the Mgbidi Crusade, where he listened to testimony and amended his ways with God. He jettisoned everything distracting him from serving God.

After making that decision, he sowed a seed of N100, 000 at the crusade, which he redeemed by paying N5000 per week. He also vowed not to miss any service and live by his words. He informed his wife about the new development and never departed from his vows.

At Enugu State crusade, he also sowed N100, 000 when G.O called for pledges and later in August at a programme, titled: “God Has Sworn To Bless You”, sowed another seed of N50, 000. After the programme, he met Daddy G.O, who said to him: “God in Heaven will bless you.”

Travelling back to Owerri, where he redeemed his new pledges, he was promoted in his office two weeks after. Praise the Lord!

Secondly, in October, a brother gave out his company to his wife, Sister Achi. According to him, the brother said something was disturbing him to call Brother Uchendu‘s wife and hand over the company to her and her husband. Saying the couple will use the proceeds from the company to help themselves and others.

Brethren, the God of Chosen is so great! The company sits amid three houses, four plots of land, and a bakery, among other facilities. He assured that by God’s grace, the company will commence business fully at month-end.
