Rising comedian, Godson Chukwuebuka Eze, popularly known as Agent of Laughter, has disclosed two things that can affect a comedian’s career negatively and make them fade off the scene.

The multi-talented act who disclosed this in a recent interview, said “there are two things that can make a comedian fade off from the scene. One is when his audience gets tired of his style of content and he refuses to change the style of content, and then the second one is if he’s not that consistent in dropping content for them to consume.”

Speaking on his journey into comedy, the Imo State-born comedian who has a large fan base on popular social media platforms said, “I started my comedy career when I entered the university. That was during my first year but I was not so serious about it then, doing it just for hobby’s sake.

“The first opportunity I had to feature in a big comedy skit was with the Xploit comedy team then followed by Brodashaggi.

“Then afterwards, the little exposure I had after this experience really made me take the job seriously because I wanted exposure and the fame lifestyle,” he said.

However, comparing social media and stand-up comedy, Agent of Laughter argued that social media comedy is slowly taking over.

Giving his reasons, he said “Yes, the social media form of comedy is taking over from the stand-up form because everybody’s online and no one has the time to go to an event and wait for a comedian to speak.

“People can just sit and consume funny content right from their comfort zone, in their homes and offices.”
