Unveiling the mystery of light – Part 1

One of the most important things on earth is light. There is literally nothing anyone can do without light.

In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 

And God said, ‘Let there be light: and there was light.’ Genesis 1:1-3

In the beginning of creation, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, darkness was all over the face of the deep and the first statement God made to creation was ‘Let there be light.’ God did not create in darkness. This signifies the importance of light.

This is of great importance and example to us as man. We need light, that is illumination for clarity of purpose before we embark on any journey, be it business, marriage or career. We must not gamble with our lives. Light must be shed on whatever we want to do, so that we will not stumble or fall. Either during day or night, man needs light. This is the reason God created light to rule by day and another light to rule at night.

All things depend on light for survival, prominence and visibility. The absence of light is called darkness, invisibility, obscurity, lack of prominence or unseen. Jesus said in John 12:35 that a man that is walking in darkness does not know where he is going, and he is bound to fall. Without light, failure is inevitable.

Then Jesus said unto them, yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. John 12:35.
